When Lightning Strikes is the life story of Evelyn M. Kennedy who lived was born and died in Ontario, 1890-1985. She weathered many a storm during her ninety-five years, but she was never alone in her struggle to survive. She was truly a child of God who travelled through life in faithful witness, and the God of love she knew tested her faith at every turn of her journey. Born in Toronto to a physician and his British 'lady', Evelyun knew a privileged childhoos in the small town of Norwich, Ontario. During her first twenty years she experienced the first motor car and the first electric light. Married to Jack Kennedy in Dixie, brother of an Ontario Premier Thomas Laird Kennedy, she gave birth to seven sons and three daughters, two of whom died as a result of lightning strikes. She is recognized as having written and produced the first Canadian radio play for children, starring her own children. Evelyn's life is testimony that when lightning strikes, we can do as she did, rally against its force and continue to have faith in life.
